Lord Dhanvantri, often hailed as the divine physician, is recognized as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the deity associated with protection and sustenance. Revered as the progenitor of Ayurveda, the ancient medical system, he is credited with its bestowal upon humanity. According to historical accounts, his manifestation occurred during the cosmic ocean churning, where he emerged with four arms. In these hands, he held the conch, the discus, a pot of nectar, and a leech—an emblematic representation of the crucial blood-purifying practices inherent in Ayurveda.
